I have special memories of my Aunty Nina. As a child I can recall how excited I was when I learned from my parents that she was making a visit. Of course, she would always bring pastry from the North End. She was always a warm, considerate, caring person. She was always interested in everyone's welfare. I can recall her always making herself available if we needed her help in a crisis. Years ago when my mom, her sister Rose, was having difficulty attempting to have heart surgery we called Aunt Nina to help. She visited with my mom and helped convince her to have the surgery.
In addition, she always had a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews. As one of her many Godchildren she would always remember my birthday and other special occcasions and helped make them memorable.
It is truly the end of an era her being the last of her all of her siblings. I will truly miss her and I can honestly say that my life has been enriched because she was part of it.
I love you and may your soul be warmed always, knowing how many you will leave behind whose lives you always made special. I am sure others would agree that we have been - touched by an Angel.
