Dorothy P. Martinelle, lifelong resident of Everett passed away on November 28, 2021 at the age of 94. Beloved daughter of the late Philip & Louise ( Spera) Martinelle. Loving sister of Lucille and her husband Arthur DesLoges, Philip and his wife Joanne Martinelle and the late Irene and her husband Charles Reynolds. Dorothy was a loving and cherished aunt of ten nieces and nephews, eighteen grand nieces and nephews and seven great grand nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1945 and Emanuel College, Class of 1949. She devoted her professional career to education, where she taught in the Everett school system for over forty years. Dorothy loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel during her vacations and was able to enjoy and experience many countries and cultures over her lifetime. Dorothy was a lifelong and devoted parishioner of St. Anthony’s Parish in Everett where she volunteered her time as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, teaching CCD and working with the Priests and staff on their many fundraising and church committees.
Funeral from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett will be on Monday, December 6th. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Anthony’s Church at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. In Lieu of flowers, the family sincerely requests that a tribute gift in her name may be made to Saint Anthony's Parish 46 Oakes St, Everett, MA 02149.
