Harold Goss, 92, of Salem, MA went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born in Chelsea, MA on August 11, 1928, the son of Harold Vey Goss and Blanche (Tucker) Goss. Harry served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He worked at Kyanize Paints Inc., in Everett for 30 years eventually becoming Executive Plant Manager.
Harry was a very involved member of First Baptist Church of Everett for many years. Harry was a deacon, led the Boys Brigade scout group, and served as worship leader. He was an avid mountain climber, rock climbing instructor and longtime member of the Appalachian Mountain Club. He especially loved the White Mountains and considered them a second home.
Harold is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jean (Madden) Goss and his son, K. David Goss and his wife Becky of Beverly, MA. He has seven grandchildren, Cheri (Alexei) Grishin, Amie (Nate) Hudak, David Goss, Heather Goss (Adam Silva), Bethany Goss, Jennifer Goss, and Graham Goss. Harold also has six great grandchildren, Alisa, Natalia, and Luka Grishin and Amira, Evan, and Graham Hudak.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the family has chosen a private visitation at the funeral home for the safety and protection of those who loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to a Graveside Service on Thursday, January 21 in Woodlawn Cemetery at 12:00 pm (noon). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harold’s name to Samaritan’s Purse.
