James "Dennis" D. Rankin

James "Dennis" Rankin of Chelsea formerly of Everett passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on October 16, 2023. Loving father of Jamie and his wife, Jill of Woburn, Michael and his wife Karen of Plymouth, Renee Chakalos and her husband Leonidas of Bradford, MA, Michele Cronin of Middleborough & James Hoffman and his wife Kim of Derry, NH. Cherished Grandfather of James & Jenna Rankin, Joshua, Austin & Brooke Rankin, Theodore Chakalos & Jacob Hoffman & Kyle, Samantha & Brett Cronin. Adored brother of David Rankin, Dr. Charles Rankin, Richard Rankin & John Rankin. Dennis is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett on Friday, October 20th at 9:00 am. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Complimentary valet parking Thursday at the Main Street entrance. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Dennis was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy and served on the aircraft carrier, The USS Essex. He set the example for his four younger brothers, all who served in the United States Military.
