Lucy Mary (Murphy) Smith 

Of Everett, formerly of Malden and County Cork, Ireland, passed away after a serious illness. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence (Larry) Smith. Devoted mother of Kathleen Smith and her husband Michael Iandolo of Saugus, Ann Marie Halliday and her former husband Ishmael of Reading and Rita Smith of Malden. Proud grandmother of three granddaughters Ana Gaglaudi of Vermont, Lucy and Amanda Halliday of Reading and three grand fur babies Karma, Maddie & Sheeba.  

Born in County Cork, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Humphrey and Kathleen Murphy. Lucy was predeceased by her sister Rita Cahalane, her brother John Murphy, her sister-in-law Dorothy “Dottie” Moore and her brother-in-law Connie Cahalane. She is survived by her brother Dennis Murphy of Ireland, sister-in-law June Donahue of Wakefield, nieces, nephews and close friends both in Ireland and America.    

Lucy worked at Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Intercity Malden for many years. She loved spending time with her family, taking care of her clients, and was a long time parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Everett. There is a special place in heaven waiting for Lucy and she will be missed by many including her Everett Co-Op Bank Family. 

Funeral from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett on Friday, July 30th. Visiting hours will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Everett at 10:00 am. Interment will be held at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery & Crematory 185 Lake St, Peabody, MA 01960. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Immaculate Conception Church or Everett Veterans Services.
