Maria Sacco Obituary

Maria Grazia Sacco (Barletta)  11/15/1935 - 12/3/2022

Passed away peacefully at home early Saturday morning surrounded by her loving family.  Maria Grazia was born in Montefusco, Avellino.  Daughter of the late Ferruccio Gaetano Barletta and Angela Colella.  Maria was a loving wife of 61 years to the late Gaetano Sacco who cherished her till his last breath. Maria Grazia or Grazziuccia as many called her was a homemaker and seamstress in Italy, where she also taught young girls how to sew.  She immigrated to America in 1974 and settled in the North End of Boston where she worked at Forecaster of Boston in the designer room making runway samples for fashion shows.  She truly was an artist in making tailor fit clothing. All she needed was a picture or a description of what the client wanted and she would sew them a masterpiece.  The family moved to Everett in 1982, where she spent most of her time doing what she loved, being a wife, mother and grandmother, cooking and entertaining, and she excelled at it all! She was truly one of a kind, her joy came from making others happy, especially her family. Maria lived and loved for 26 years after being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers’. Through it all her smile and laugh, her caring and loving nature, her beauty and kindness, her strength and perseverance were a model for every life she touched in this world. As our hearts break from her loss, we find comfort knowing that she is back in the loving arms of her husband Gaetano in Heaven, smiling down on us all as we live our lives doing our best to be kind, understanding and loving people as she taught us all in our lives together. Our hearts are broken.

She was the beloved mother of Josephine Foster and husband Adam Foster of Everett, Maria Angela Vigorito and Michael Vigorito of Saugus.  Loving grandmother of Michael Vigorito Jr., Alessandra, Gaetano and Graziella Foster.   She is survived in Italy by her sister Michelina Barletta (Todesca), her brother Corrado Barletta, sisters in law, Giulia Sacco, Carmelina Sacco, Elena Sacco and Filomena Sacco and here in America by her sister in law Rosa Perry.  She was sister to the late Antonio Barletta, Father Gaetano Barletta and Alessandro Barletta and beloved sister in law to the late Pasquale Sacco and Donatina Sacco and Lorenzo Sacco in Italy.  Cherished Aunt of many nieces and nephews.  She will forever be loved and cherished.
