Holland, Marilyn (O’Hara) of Melrose formerly of Malden and Everett passed away December 7th after a brief illness. Beloved wife of the late George Holland, retired Superintendent of the Malden Public Schools and mother to Edward “Ted” Holland. A Lifelong teacher, Marilyn was a graduate of Nazareth Academy, Boston State College and Suffolk University. Marilyn Holland and the Holland family devoted their lives to the well-being of the City of Malden. The 79-year-old served her community for decades, first as an educator then as a member and President of the Malden Kiwanis club. Marilyn’s kind demeanor, friendship and holiday recipes will be missed by her surviving brother, Francis O’Hara, wife Joan and sister Audrey, all of Melrose. Retired Teacher Malden Public Schools.
Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm at the Rocco Funeral Home 331 Main St Everett. Funeral Mass in Most Blessed Sacrament Church Wakefield on Thursday at 10am followed by interment in Forestdale Cemetery Malden.
