Mary DiFelice Obituary

Mary Pauline (Sorgi) Di Felice, 95, of Groveland passed away peacefully at Aspen Hill Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Haverhill, MA on Wednesday July 24, 2024. Mary was born and raised in Boston the daughter of Pauline (Stegmaier) and Leo Sorgi. She was a graduate of Jamaica Plain high school. She had lived in Melrose for many years.

She was an avid reader of books, newspapers, and magazines. She especially enjoyed searching for art and antiques.

Over the years Mary worked for Sears & Roebuck, Domino Sugar, and Harvard University. She especially enjoyed working at the Littauer Library and The Harvard Law Review. She spoke passionately about the young law students who currently hold positions as judges and politicians.

She loved traveling with her husband to Africa, Europe, and many grand prix races to cheer on Ferrari. They enjoyed many road trips in their Alfa Romeo and Ferrari sports cars`.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Avio Di Felice brother Leo Sorgi, and niece Gilmora.

She is survived by her nephew Donald Di Felice and wife Carol of Haverhill MA, niece Annamarie Albanese of Haverhill MA, niece Emily Paone and husband Bart of Everett MA, niece Melinda Shurr and husband Eric of Bend OR, along with several grand nieces/nephews and great grand nieces/nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday August 1st in Immaculate Conception Church 489 Broadway,Everett MA at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will  immediately follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made in her name to the charity if your choice.
