Obituary

Attorney Richard Cullin Chambers, of Lynnfield, MA passed away peacefully on July 26 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84.

Attorney Chambers spent his childhood in Ocean Springs, Mississippi prior to matriculating at the University of Mississippi on an ROCTC scholarship. He served his country as an officer in the US Army at Fort Detrick, Maryland specializing in the study of biological warfare prior to graduating from the University of Mississippi with honors. He continued his education at Harvard and graduated from Suffolk University School of Law, passing the Massachusetts state bar exam on the first try. Upon graduating law school, he joined the law firm of Alfred Paul Farese Sr as a trial lawyer. Attorney Chambers had a distinguished career, being named one of the best lawyers in the state of Massachusetts.

When not litigating cases in court, Attorney Chambers enjoyed working with his hands. He became an accomplished builder and managed to construct the family home in Lynnfield, working on Saturdays, Sundays, and vacation.

While attending the University of Mississippi, Richard (known affectionately as Dick) met the love of his life Adele Farese, daughter of the late Attorney Alfred Paul Farese and Josephine Jean Farese (Cioffi) of Everett. The loving couple married on July 28, 1962, and would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this year.

Dick and Adele were blessed with three children and five grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling the world with Adele and spending time with their children and grandchildren making Disney magic at their vacation home in Orlando, Florida. Dick was also a great fan of his wife’s cooking and would often boast to all who would listen of her culinary skills. He was a fantastic storyteller and would keep any audience captivated with his words. He loved boats, sports, automobiles, fishing, and his wolf-dog Nikita.

Attorney Chambers was predeceased by his parents Ciro and Ina Chambers of Biloxi, Mississippi. He is survived by his loving wife Adele, his three children, and their families. His daughter, Judee Chambers Walsh, and her daughter James (Jaclyn) Walsh; Attorney Richard Cullin Chambers Jr, his wife Lisa Young Chambers and their children Richard Cullin III and Victoria Adele Chambers; and Doctor Jean Marie Tabit, her husband the Honorable Salim Tabit and their children Catalina Jean and Isabel Grace Tabit. He is also survived by his two siblings, Fay and Charles Chambers.

His grandchildren will especially miss their Pappa, his warm smile, hearty laugh, and the lollipops he would bring whenever he visited.

A true southern gentleman, he will be remembered most of all for his love of family and his kindness to everyone he met. He never met a stranger and was always available to help anyone in need. His life, to his family, was a true gift from God.
