Richard Thomas Ruzzo currently of Lynnfield, formerly of Everett, born and raised in Revere passed away November 1, 2020 at the age of 82. Devoted husband for 33 years to Priscilla Dunn Ruzzo (Dunn-Vitale) of Everett.
Father of Mark Ruzzo of Florida, Christopher Ruzzo and his wife Linlin of Florida, Stacy Blue and her husband Mark of Florida and Stephannie Miles of North Carolina. Stepfather to Denise Doherty and her husband William of Saugus, Michele Dobbins and her husband Mark of Winchester, Jeannine Dion and her husband Peter of Georgetown, and Jennifer Tammaro and her husband Phillip of Lynnfield. Proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren: Andrew Dion, Kelsey Dion, Caitlyn Dion, Phillip Tammaro, Madeline Dobbins, Samantha Dobbins, Anthony Ruzzo, Antonio Ruzzo, Tia Blue, Logan Blue, Max Ruzzo and the late Brandon Bottari.
As a young man, Richard served time in the US Navy and learned the art of cooking with his father Domenic. This paved the way into a long career as a professional chef, working at many restaurants including Locke-Ober’s in Boston and the Belmont Country Club. Dick enjoyed cooking at home and making many of his signature dishes for the holidays. He loved traveling with his wife, spending time at the beach and just being surrounded by family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 5 at Our Lady of Grace Church in Everett at 12:00 pm (noon), followed by a committal service at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
