Ruth was an incredibly strong woman with unmatched determination. She raised her four children alone after losing her husband Emilio at the young age of 38. Even though she had a difficult life she always led with dignity. She was selfless and kind, her devotion to her Catholic faith helped her persevere and carry on. She was witty, smart, and had a great sense of humor but at the same time she was tough as nails. Ruth was known to be a fantastic cook and baker of tasty treats. She loved to make her Italian food from scratch including her delicious gravy, homemade ravioli and manicotti always with the freshest of ingredients. Her coffee cake and gingerbread were legendary. She was also famous for her knitting and crocheting. She deeply enjoyed teaching people how to do both. If a baby was born she would proudly make a combination of mittens, sweaters, and an Afghan blanket for them. She was a godmother to many, had the biggest heart and would do anything for her great friends and neighbors. Our mother Ruth was a unique person and there will never be another woman like her. She will be missed more than she could ever know and will leave a void that can never be filled. Ruth is survived by her daughter Donna, son Neil and his wife Joaquina and was pre-deceased by her husband Emilio, daughters Maureen and Joyce and her only grandchild Anthony. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with them. We love you, Mom.
