Teresa (Accolla) Sellaro
Of Revere, age 88, passed away on April 30th. Teresa was the beloved wife of the late Giovanni. Devoted mother to Frank and his wife Denise, Joseph and his wife Julie, Vincent, and her late son Robert. Loving sister to Carmelina DiPaola, Carmen Accolla, Peter Accolla, Domenic Accolla, & Maryann Napolitano. Teresa is also survived by her granddaughter, Mary; and many loving nieces and nephews, both here in America and in Italy.
Teresa was born in Augusta, Sicily, a historical coastal town, on November 12th, 1931 to Antonietta and Guiseppe Accolla. At the age of 16, Teresa and her family moved to Boston. One year, while vacationing back in southern Italy, her brother-in-law introduced her to her unbeknownst future husband, “John”. It was love at first sight.
After marrying in Italy, John and Teresa moved back to Boston, settling in Revere, where they built a life, a home, and a family. Teresa was an expert seamstress, exceptional cook and surprised everyone when she would crossbreed plants in her garden- a true innovator.
Teresa will always be remembered for her utter elegance and class, the definition of a Lady, but most of all, she will be remembered for her endless dedication and loyalty to her family and four sons.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.”
In light of the recent development with COVID-19, all funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Teresa's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
