William J. Mann

William J. “Bill” Mann, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Everett, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. He was 75 years old.

Born in Boston on February 1, 1951, Bill was the eldest of six children born to the late William G. Mann and Eileen P. (Harrington) Mann. He was raised in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1968. Shortly thereafter, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, Bill began a distinguished 35-year career with Exxon.

It was at Exxon that Bill met the love of his life, Diane Morrison. The two were married in 1973 and shared more than five decades of love and partnership. Together they raised their three daughters, Melissa, Kelley, and Stephanie, in Everett, Massachusetts, where they created a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. 

Following his retirement in 2006, Bill and Diane made Naples, Florida, their home. Whether riding his bicycle, playing tennis, taking walks, spending time at the pool, or socializing with his friends and neighbors at Glen Eagle, Bill enjoyed nothing more than good company, easy conversation, and sharing a laugh with those around him.

Above all else, Bill was a devoted husband, father, and proud “Papa.” Nothing brought him greater happiness than his family. He especially treasured every opportunity to return to Massachusetts to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events, school activities, and milestones. He was their biggest fan, and they always knew they could count on seeing him in the stands.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, William G. and Eileen P. (Harrington) Mann. He was also predeceased by his parents-in-law, Edward and Emily Morrison.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Diane (Morrison) Mann of Naples, Florida; his loving daughters, Melissa (Anthony) DeAngelis of Wakefield, Massachusetts, Kelley (Sandro) Colarusso of Wakefield, Massachusetts, and Stephanie Mann of Stoneham, Massachusetts; his cherished grandchildren, Alex, Stella, Mikey, Tessa, Justin, and Emily; his siblings, Cheryl (Jim) Flood of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Barbara Mann of Westwood, Massachusetts, Jack (Lorrie) Mann of Pembroke, Massachusetts, Kathleen (Steven) Thorn of West Roxbury, Massachusetts, and Ellen (Pat) Gillespie of West Roxbury, Massachusetts; his brother-in-law, Edward (Deborah) Morrison of Bolton, Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and neighbors whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on August 20th at 9am at Rocco Funeral Home in Everett, Massachusetts, followed by an 11am Funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Everett. Family and friends are invited to attend.
